The goal of the Center for Computational Biology (CCB) is to provide a common intellectual ground for biomolecular modeling and a shared infrastructure to support computational research.
The research carried out by the investigators in the CCB focuses on theories, simulations, and software designed to understand problems in the molecular biophysics and structural biology at scales ranging from atoms to organisms. A prevailing theme is the synergy of various projects within the Center and the numerous collaborations between the CCB and other researchers on both the Medical School and Hilltop campuses. Furthermore, the research expertise of the core CCB faculty is supplemented by the diverse interests of the associate members of the CCB and their computational research programs. The result is a synergistic environment which enables the study of complex biological phenomena through collaborations within the CCB and the larger Washington University research community.
